Respiratory therapists (RTs), also known as Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP), specialize in the assessment and treatment of breathing disorders. These include chronic lung problems (e.g., asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, COPD), and more acute multi-systemic problems stemming from other pathological conditions such as heart attacks, stroke, or trauma as well as complications at birth.

Woodlands can offer a full range of respiratory services from incentive spirometry to ventilator management. With a full-time respiratory therapist on staff, ventilator and tracheostomy weaning are also possible. There are designated rooms at both Woodlands facilities that meet the needs of ventilator dependent Residents.
